KBD Operations Meeting
KBD recently held our Biannual Operations Meeting at our Atlanta, Georgia, offices with KBD Leadership from around the globe in attendance to share ideas and plans for continued achievement of the KBD Vision: To provide first class services to our clients in target markets, develop healthy and sustainable organizations, and to contribute to society through our business with honesty .
Shin Urano, Senior Vice President of Kajima International Incorporated (KII); Jeff Stiner, President/CEO Kajima Building & Design Group, Inc. (KBD Group); and Jim Goodwin, Senior Vice President, delivered key presentations during the three day gathering.
Inspiring discussion emerged from each of these key forums:
- KII, Senior Vice President, Shin Urano discussed the strength of competitiveness and branding, the investment cycle, and further development projects. Highlights of his presentation included ideas regarding new investments, future growth, and maximization of profits for the entire KUSA Group.
- President, Jeff Stiner illustrated the KBDG Mission of providing the highest standard of design and construction related services and maximizing the efficiency and performance of our clients’ businesses throughout the project cycle and beyond, always as a “Total Solution by providing a Single Source responsibility.” Additional points of discussion in Stiner’s presentation included proactive risk management, staff development, continued improvement in quality and productivity with the Lean Approach based on collaboration and efficient workflow, and methods for continued and increased customer satisfaction.
- Senior Vice President, Jim Goodwin focused his presentation on operation goals and challenges. He discussed ideas for continued improvements to our safety culture, methods for improving our planning process, and steps to avoid complacency and error within our teams. He shared the KBD position that good planning prevents problems for all involved in a project.
The agenda also included information regarding the 2017, second quarter results as well as ideas for re-forecasting. Updates from several departments were shared, including marketing and business, human resources, finance and accounting, risk management, and IT. Leadership also exchanged views about ongoing key projects, projected sales, and operation plans for several regions. Key challenges for the 2017 year were also illuminated.
